Amazon lanzará la serie de Blade Runner 2099. ¡No te la pierdas!

Amazon Studios has announced the production of the new live-action limited series Blade Runner 2099 by Alcon Entertainment and Scott Free Productions, with legendary director Ridley Scott as executive producer and Silka Luisa (Shining Girls) as showrunner and executive producer. Blade Runner 2099 will be available exclusively on Prime Video in over 240 countries and territories worldwide.

Blade Runner 2099: what to expect?

«The original Blade Runner, directed by Ridley Scott, is considered one of the most important and influential science fiction films of all time, and we are excited to present Blade Runner 2099 to our Prime Video viewers worldwide,» said Vernon Sanders, head of Global Television at Amazon Studios. «We are honored to be able to present this sequel to the Blade Runner franchise, and we are confident that by collaborating with Ridley, Alcon Entertainment, Scott Free Productions, and the extraordinarily talented Silka Luisa, Blade Runner 2099 will honor the ingenuity, themes, and spirit of the films that came before it.»

Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson, co-CEOs and co-founders of Alcon Entertainment, added «We are thrilled to continue working with our friends at Amazon. And we are truly excited to further expand the Blade Runner universe into a new reality with the bold narrative crafted by Silka. Forty years ago, audiences were first introduced to Ridley Scott’s stunning visions in Blade Runner, which has since become one of the most influential science fiction films of all time. Denis Villeneuve’s sequel, Blade Runner 2049, then became one of the most critically acclaimed sequels of all time. We realize that the bar for this next chapter is set very high. Together with Silka and our partners at Amazon and Scott Free Productions, we hope to meet that classic’s standards and thrill the audience with the new generation of Blade Runner.»

Michael Green (Logan), who wrote the film Blade Runner 2049, will participate in the project as a non-writing executive producer, alongside Alcon Entertainment co-founders Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson, Ben Roberts, head of Television at Alcon, David W. Zucker and Clayton Krueger of Scott Free Productions, and Cynthia Yorkin, Frank Giustra, and Isa Dick Hackett. Additionally, Tom Spezialy has joined the writers’ room and will also serve as an executive producer.

In 2011, Alcon Entertainment acquired the rights for film, television, and ancillary franchise to produce prequels and sequels of the iconic 1982 science fiction thriller, Blade Runner. Since then, Alcon has funded and produced Blade Runner 2049, critically acclaimed, warmly received, and winner of two Oscars, in addition to the recent Blade Runner: Black Lotus, an anime series that premiered last year on Adult Swim and Crunchyroll.
