Windows 10: Banner pantalla completa por fin soporte.

Microsoft has begun to ramp up efforts to inform Windows 10 users about the approaching end of support date, set for October 14, 2025. The company is adopting a strategy similar to what was used in the past for Windows 7, displaying full-screen alerts on PCs not eligible for the Windows 11 upgrade.

It is interesting to note that these alerts do not offer an option to be disabled: after thanking users for their loyalty to Windows 10, the messages show users the benefits of Windows 11 and the ways to transition to a compatible new PC. Microsoft’s goal is to ensure that users are aware of the imminent end of the Windows 10 lifecycle and the consequences in terms of security and system stability. Below is the full text, translated into Italian from the English version:

«A new journey with Windows»

We want to thank you for your loyalty as a Windows 10 customer. With the end of support for Windows 10 approaching, we are here to support you on your journey.

Your PC is not eligible for the Windows 11 upgrade, but it will continue to receive security fixes and updates for Windows 10 until support ends on October 14, 2025.

Learn more about how you can prepare for the transition to Windows 11.»

Windows 10, full-screen alerts about the end of support are appearing

After October 14, 2025, PCs running Windows 10 will no longer receive critical security updates and bug fixes, exposing them to potential vulnerabilities and exploits. Users who wish to stay secure beyond that date will have two options: purchase a new PC with Windows 11 preinstalled or pay Microsoft for extended security updates on Windows 10 (a mode not mentioned in the recently appeared alerts on systems). Prices for these extended security updates have not yet been disclosed for private users, but have been communicated for businesses.

It seems that Microsoft deems it essential to warn users about the impending end of Windows 10 support, considering its current significant market share. There are still about 18 months left until the end of mainstream support for the «old» Redmond operating system, but the company seems determined not to waste time in informing users of the implications of this deadline and the available options to stay safe after the fateful date.
